One of my favorite effects that happened several months after my Reconnection is that I remembered I was born to be a writer. Today I am finally writing again, both poetry and books. Writing for a living was a dream I gave up in my early 20s, when I decided I couldn't make money at it -- which was the only way I knew how to value myself and base life decisions on back then.
So about a year after my personal Reconnection, I stretched myself and hired a well-known business coach to help me expand my business out to where I could feel it should be. In our first meeting in January 2008, we decided I really had to start writing "my book". That in itself has been a huge healing process of self-discovery, and now, almost two years later, with the help of three editors and a publicist, that book has become a series of seven books for healers, plus a few ebooks in line to boot. The first paper book is due out in 2010, and the first small ebook is available now for free at

The Plot Twist: Even More Healing
An additional layer on this healing story is that earlier this summer (2009) I finally admitted that writing has been unusually exhausting, time-consuming, and difficult for the last year and a half. (Well, expressing ideas was easy, but editing and making it come out in the right order was very hard.) Through a series of 'coincidences' that started with listening to a wonderful (and free) Eric Pearl interview on
Conscious Media Network, I have officially discovered and admitted to having the gift of dyslexia.
I'd suspected it for a long time of course, and healed some issues early on as a healer (like not being able to find the correct next line of text). But this summer I finally was able to easily face the issue fully and without shame, and for the first time desired to move through it with official help. One way we heal is not to wake up miraculously cured one morning, but to let go of hiding our problems out of fear and solve them.
If you know anyone with dyslexia, ADD or autism, then in addition to recommending some Reconnective Healing of course, I'd also point you to Ron Davis's fascinating books about the dyslexic mind and how he learned to learn. As a former dyslexic and autistic himself, Ron's is a beautiful story of a healed wounded healer, and he tells his tale in a Conscious Media Network interview, too. Ron Davis writes the best description I've ever read of what happens in the mind of a dyslexic. Understand your loved ones by reading:
I love God's sense of humor in creating a dyslexic writer, but thanks to my Reconnection, healers can look forward to some of my books about the healer's spiritual path in the future! Have you had any healings or spiritual evolution that surprised you since your Reconnection?
