From my October 2007 client newsletter:
Another of the effects of my Reconnection in February [2007] that I've noticed is kind of hard to describe but really wonderful. Like so many, it's subtle but noticeable. It is a sort of heightened awareness, like living more vividly, more in-the-moment, plus with grace and ease. Like I can notice everything around me more easily and enjoy it more.
I'm much more aware of where I am in time, too, which is new and different. I've typically been pretty lost when it comes to time, scheduling and the like. What hit me recently is that I usually start Christmas stuff after Thanksgiving "attacks" and leaves me in its wake. Usually, I resist planning for Christmas because it's such a headache and I'm not a planner. We have 4 kids, generous aunts & uncles, and three sets of grandparents -- yes, I do have a HUGE spreadsheet and actively manage a lot of gift-buying to significantly tone down the Christmas morning craze. I'm toast (though happy toast) by 12/26.
This year, however, it's very strange. For the first time ever, I'm very gently aware that the holiday season is approaching. I have even started to think about and buy gifts. I don't feel stressed, just in the flow of it... maybe even looking forward to it. No panic, no denial (I think that's what made Thanksgiving a surprise). Just grace and ease. This is really weird for me. And wonderful.
How about you? Did The Reconnection affect the way you perceive the world around you?
